Matcha and coffee have great health benefits, but coffee may have some undesirable effects. Both are linked with improved focus, memory, and mood. May help with weight loss

Drinking matcha or coffee may help improve weight loss because of the caffeine they contain. Caffeine suppresses hunger and encourages your body to use more energy. Green tea may also assist gut health which affects fat storage and blood glucose balance.

Cancer-preventing antioxidants

Matcha and coffee are both rich in antioxidants. Though the antioxidants may differ between the two beverages, the effect is similar. Antioxidants in your system work to repair your damaged cells and even attack cancerous cells. This helps prevent the spread and growth of cancer cells. Antioxidants counter many types of diseases as they mend unhealthy cells.

Matcha is associated with promoting healthy teeth, while the acidity in coffee may leave your teeth stained and damaged. Matcha helps periodontal health by reducing inflammation, preventing teeth deterioration, and limiting bacteria. Coffee isn't so forgiving on your teeth and is extremely acidic. It can wear down tooth enamel and leave teeth sensitive and vulnerable. The acidity may also affect people with sensitive stomachs.

So matcha or coffee?

Matcha and coffee have their benefits, but matcha's seem to outweigh coffee's. Both have positive effects on weight loss and contain healthy antioxidants but coffee has a risk of causing dependency and possible heart problems. Coffee’s acidity is also very tough on your teeth and stomach. Whereas matcha may actually help with your dental health. Coffee in moderation is not bad, but making your daily morning beverage green instead is preferable according to science.
